You know there's a train too, right? It's just a mountain - soil and rocks, the most unique thing about it is some alpine plants that don't exist at lower elevations. We paved a road through the notch, that's a beautiful spot too. Gets a lot more traffic than Mount Washington.

The only thing that makes it special is humans perception of it. It's tall, you can see long distances from the top. So let the people enjoy it. No other species has these philosophies about the sanctity of a mountain. That's the catch - we love it so much we want to visit it but hate the fact that so many people are visiting it.

STFU, hippy. Walk up it if you want, but don't clutch your pearls over a local treasure that's been around for generations.

I don't mind the road, and the Mount Washington Weather Observatory is such a unique Mt top feature, that I'm glad the road is there if only to get the crew to the summit.

That said - I hate the line for pictures at the summit. I wish Hikers were allowed to bypass the line. Hikers are usually under a time constraint to get down in daylight, and waiting in line for an hour is a pain.

You do know that there are people who literally can't hike a mountain, right? I mean, screw the tourists, sure, but what about these other people? Do they not get to enjoy if they want to because they're not as pure as you? You're basically the same as Hitler at this point. Suck it.
