Are there any spots or drive courses where we can enjoy the view at night?

Lighthouse point park is closed after sunset and we can’t drive up West Rock in winter. Not sure when East Rock is open to cars up to the peak.

I just get bored out of my mind at night but I’m not big on drinking and usually work out in the morning. I do enjoy cooking at night but I also end up eating straight away and it’s just not healthy.

Please give me ideas.

There are lots of parks and spots along the water / rivers in New Haven. Fair Haven, Fair Haven Heights, and Long Wharf have some nice little spaces on the water. If you search for boat or canoe launches, you'll find areas that you can access in a car that are on the water.

Guilford harbor

End of west wharf road, madison

Make the drive and walk around mohegan sun

Ikea has a great view of new haven in the cafeteria

Unh and the va hospital are on a hill overlooking new haven - the hill is in west haven

Go to old say brook and drive to the say brook point in. Its on the ct river. You’d be able to look across it and see the bridges going to old lyme.

Anytime you are looking at long island sound - look for lights on long island.

I used to go to Branford point at night a lot to sit by the water. It was 4+ years ago so it may be different now but it’s worth a shot.

Checkout the end of poplar street… you can launch canoes there, have a barbecue, play some dice , overall a great community.

Haven’t been able to recreate/ find again in New Haven some residential street leading up /near West Rock, great night-time views from memory. Hilly and higher up, relatively. Any insight people???

Top of the Shubert Theater parking garage is my preferred spot for July 4 fireworks. I can’t believe I’ve never gone up to enjoy a sunset—or sunrise. I’m sure it’s fabulous.
