Haircut Stylist PLS!

Does anyone have a salon / hair stylist that they can recommend to give a good hair cut!!! All of the ones I know in the area specialize in “baby lights” “lived in blonde” “balayage” all that….but none of them really know how to give a quality haircut. Looking to go from long hair to a shorter cut with bangs. Anywhere in CT will do for the right stylist. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!

The Hive in East Rock (they do the other stuff too but quality haircuts are the base)...

The barbarie is the place. No hipster climate. Solid solid cuts for women and men. Not going anywhere else after finding this place and I've looked... a lot

KC is a lovely person with a lot of talent. I equally recommend Lea at Soho. They’re all very good there. Great salon.

I really like Liyah at nightbird salon in east rock. Saw her when I was growing out a buzz cut (I’m female) and she made my mop look like a real haircut. She’ll tell you if what you want won’t look good too, which I appreciate. Also had a good experience with Capture Salon downtown but you may have to emphasize how short you want to go— I went long to bob there and they left it a little longer than I wanted.

Brushed by Cathleen in New Haven/Amity. She has a chair in a nail salon (which is also fantastic) and she gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. She does do color as well. Highly recommend.

I’ve been having wonderful experiences with McKenzie at the old Saybrook Ulta of all places. I have curls and have been to so many salons that specialize in curls with no luck. She’s fabulous!
