I'm flying out of Tweed this weekend from a little over an hour away as the flight was cheaper than BDL. I noticed that the only parking I can find is on-site and going to be $100 for 5 days which is crazy expensive. (3x BDL park-n-rides) It seems like the Union Station and 270 State St. parking shuttles are no longer and only during the holidays.

Is there any other option besides on-site???? Thanks!

I would park at the Branford shoreline east station (it’s free) and then Lyft to the airport. HVN doesn’t allow Uber but if you were you would have to get dropped off on Burr St and walk to the terminal (which is ab a 5min walk).

If you're cool with leaving your car unattended in a commuter lot there's a small one at 61 Kimberly Ave in east haven. Prolly a $8 uber ride to tweed. Keep in mind it's not that big, its right on a high traffic road with higher speeds and without any on location security (although east haven pd routinely drive by this area).

Increased activity at Tweed which means increased need for parking has been met with considerable backlash by the neighbors and local government. For example: https://www.nhregister.com/news/article/tweed-new-haven-airport-parking-cease-desist-17638191.php

No good options exist yet. Because of the parking issues, I've mostly used uber to/from Tweed. YMMV

Damn that stinks......it would be close to $200 for me to uber to and from for me so that wouldn't make sense

Could you park downtown and then Uber over? Not sure how cost-effective that is, but maybe worth a shot

I don’t know New Haven too well so I’m not sure of a place that would allow parking for 5 days

Not sure if this is any help but my street in east rock (a subdivision in new haven right outside of Yale) always has plenty of street parking and it’s free. I’ve left my car here two weeks at a time and the only issue was when they did street cleaning for all the leaves in the fall. Super safe, no accidents or breakins or anything

It’s about a 12 min Uber to the airport. If you’re interested you can DM me and I’ll tell you the roads that I know for sure have available and free parking

I saw this sign at Tweed when I got back from a flight last week advertising a free shuttle service between the Courtyard and Homewood Suites in Orange. Try calling the number and seeing if you can park there? https://imgur.com/a/Qo2AOum

There's a Park & Ride off I95 North, exit 51, which is for the airport on the East Haven side. Terminal is in New Haven. Take an Uber from there, about $8.

Street address for Park & Ride: 61 and 25 Kimberly Av, East Haven.

You could rock a commuter lot for 5 days. I’m not sure what the rules are for the parking garages downtown. Maybe look into that? 100 for 5 days isn’t entirely terrible though. For context I had two 5 day trips recently one bdl and one jfk. $70 at bdl and $130 at lga

Did you park on-site at BDL? $70 is very high compared to what I normally pay. I parked for 16 days once and it was $55 at a park n ride

No not on site all lots were full unfortunately. Parked at executive valet which is now called “park n fly”

How long ago was that? I did parking spot last year at bdl and it was like $7-8 a day. That little for 2 weeks, esp after all the airport access taxes seems crazy low.

I use LAZfly premier self park and they periodically have deals that you can stay for a whole month for $50-60

The 206 CTtransit bus services Tweed and the buses are still free. Not sure where you live but it originates from the downtown green and heads straight there. You do need to call up CTtransit and request that the bus stops there in advance though.

the 206 bus right now yes goes to Tweed but only stops at the terminal if you tell the driver when you are on the bus. i think you only call the CtTransit if you are at Tweed and you want the pick up; when leaving Tweed- that is the part that is dicey.

The only thing I can add is it appears Tweed has the ability to restart that downtown parking shuttle for busy periods and it’s worth checking their ParkHVN site the day before this high-travel weekend in case they do. Separately, the Park New Haven website (different) lists the city’s garages and I was surprised the bigger ones are expensive ($18 daily) you’d still need to Lyft over; don’t use Uber.

I seem to recall West Haven Métro North parking is free. But what a PITA for OP - I haven’t flown out of HVN in years but the parking used to be super cheap.
