Where do you shop for secondhand, thrifted or “antique” furniture? Any tips on finding moving sales or estate sales? Beyond local but nothing/nextdoor where should I go for old wood furniture and weird stuff!

There are Habitat for Humanity ReStores in Wallingford, Stratford and Cromwell. They have had some very nice stuff over the years.

Gillette Consignment on Silas deane highway. They deliver, and have an online store you can browse (although not everything is on there I think)

A little bit of everything at Roosevelt Tower on Route 34 in Derby. There's also a junk and antique barn 1 minute north on 34 from Roosevelt Tower that's worth going through if you're in the area. Mongers Market in Bridgeport is only open on Sundays but has a lot of fun things to explore. Also agree that the Stratford ReStore is the best ReStore.

Hotel Liquidators is really fun! Maybe not the quality or antiquity that you are seeking, but definitely a unique place worth a visit. I've found lamps, mirrors and some wall art there.

The Goodwill Outlet in Hamden often gets some good stuff. Dirt cheap too!

new england reuse in north haven is worth checking out! it's a pretty similar to the habitat restores.

also, it's a little more expensive and boutique/vintage-oriented, but monger's market in bridgeport is always worth the trip on a sunday.
