New Haven crows do this every winter. They congregate on east rock in the sun and then fly into the sunset. Every day.

I live in Meriden and we have 2 large murders (flock of crows) that congregate in the large trees in my neighborhood. Mean birds they are! I have seen them chase down smaller birds to exhaustion, when they literally fall from the sky and are consumed.

They were in "Chapel West", roosting every night, for a few weeks in the late fall. Thought I was going to lose my mind or have to find a new apartment. And tonight, they're back! Ugh.
