Is Pitkin St Tunnel even open? Google maps directs me there a lot and I keep missing the entrance from Elm St, but I’ve seen the entrance from State St and there’s a bar there. Is it only open to certain people?

The tunnel goes under the Federal Building and Federal Courthouse. If you commit a Federal felony, you might get a free trip through the tunnel, but you won't see much.

tl;dr: Federal Marshalls say no, you can't go through the tunnel.

There's a security gate at either end. I've only ever seen city or government vehicles able to go through the whole tunnel. But the State St entrance is how you get to the 360 State / Elm City Market parking garage, you have to turn before the security gate.

Ah I see. Thanks for the link. I guess google maps just doesn’t know this tunnel isn’t open for public use.

I think it’s open for some period of time but not exactly sure when. I know it’s closed by 9 am so it might be open from 6 am to 9 am. There is a sign on the Elm Street entrance that lists times but they’re definitely wrong.
