Hi everyone,

I was recently hired by YNH, and I'm looking to stop commuting. Are there apartment buildings or places I should check out to move to? I see a lot of listings from farnam realty but have seen bad reviews here. I'm looking for a one or two bedroom apartment for my partner and I.

Thanks!

Edit: It would be helpful to include a budget! I'm looking for something <$2k/month; preferably with an OK sized kitchen as well as my partner and I love to cook.

You really need to give a budget. In general I think the safest bet is usually individual landlords or the luxury apartment buildings (360 state, Corsair, etc)

A lot of people from ynhh live at 900 chapel street apartments. I can put you in touch with the property manager. Nice apartments-1BR starting at 1650ish

Look at Strauss Alder building lots of YNHH employees live there. 1BR starts at $1545. Building is owned by PMC Property Group. Contact Kristen Favia she is the Property Manager. If you end up living there buy a wheel lock for you car.

also recommend strauss adler. pmc is pretty good, very responsive. lauire burns is another rep who lives in the building. the elevators are finicky.

There is also 2BR apartment close to your budget at the 250 Greene street apartments in Wooster Square. Call Prime Management and ask for Joseph he is the property manager.

I recently signed a lease at New Haven towers. They have a ton of options across their four buildings within your budget. I really liked the units and Ed, the leasing manager, is great to work with.

I actually liked farnham. I wouldn’t necessarily avoid them based on my experience but i could be wrong. I have definitely consistently heard bad things about pike, mandy, and topliff peak. I have elm city mgmt now and they are fine- very hands off but the maintenance is good.

My husband and I’s current apartment is actually up for rent! We are leaving our lease early after finding a house - all utilities are included for $2195 (except cable/internet), it has an assigned parking spot, in Wooster Square directly on the park as well, so good for walking and/or biking downtown. My husband and I shared a car our first year here actually. Let me know if you’re interested, we would love to help our realtor find the perfect people to move in!
