Is this in east rock? Are there areas without gun violence in new haven? We are about to move there and this makes me very nervous

East rock area is fine but it’s happening daily all over new haven numerous times , follow On Scene Media new haven on FaceBook or the gram

Whitney avenue and Lawrence St. Third shooting in three months. And yes, this is known as a very safe area.

Westville (west of the park) and East Shore have less shootings than other areas.

East Rock looks safe but isn’t really safe IMO. I wouldn’t live there.

whatever would we do without your opinion. I've lived in East Rock for 20 years, it is overwhelmingly sanitized to the point of absurdity. 15 years ago - a little rough but still decently nice. Now - it's basically a theme park for white people from the midwest

2 of these are suicides, 1 was an accident and the other was a shootout with law enforcement. Don’t be obtuse, country singers don’t go around shooting each other….

New Haven is significantly safer now than it was back in the 80s. Those were rough times. Downtown had nothing but a dying shopping mall. None of these fancy restaurants and night clubs. No fancy Apple store in Broadway. Significantly higher crime rates.

nah in the 80s New Haven had the coliseum and then tune inn by 1990. Fancy spots like Scoozi's and Atticus were already open

East shore has the least number of shootings in the city. I’ve been in this section for a decade and I can’t remember even one.
