No but probably bc the news doesn’t cover those instances.. it I’m sure many people have fallen on various less steep parts, especially while venturing off trails..

My dad was a firefighter in Hamden for 20 years, and participated in MANY stuck hikers on and around West and East Rock parks. Just asked him and he said people had fallen off and survived, but not serious falls from the top that he knew of.

Yes. I witnessed a fall of about 40 feet and the person was able to walk away (to the hospital)

Yes, I know someone who did just that. Landed in pine trees and broke dozens of bones. Was found by my friend's dog while hiking.

He lived another decade, and then died recently by suicide. Mental illnesses can be brutal, especially since they interfere with living a normal life. One has to give up many dreams (medical school, career, etc) just to focus on making it through the day.
