If you can’t find something free I recommend checking the returns section of Ikea. I’ve found lots of almost-new stuff at a steep discount. Some days might be better than others - some locations put returns out as they get them, others wait over the weekend and put everything out Monday morning.

When you say you tried Facebook, did that include joining/posting an #ask in your local Buy Nothing group? That’s what I’d try.

I will try New Haven buy nothing group, thank you! I’m a member of “tag sale” groups but they seem to be full of scammers.

I'd check the Habitat for Humanity ReStores in Stratford and Wallingford.

How much do you want to spend? I have a couch in my basement (covered) it's a Lazy Boy and bc it was under warranty, I had it serviced so it's looks brand new but we're not using it and probably never will. I'd really like it gone.

Edit: it's like a medium charcoal gray, sort of smooth material like microfiber but not, and reclines on either end of the sofa but the middle piece doesn't recline and you can pull it apart so that you can move it more easily.

Hi, thank you so much! I was thinking $100 but I know that’s really not much.

I'll sell my couch for $250 but don't think I can go lower. It's practically brand new and was serviced with brand new foam and all that jazz.

check out Savers! it’s got the cheapest furniture imo. also the Goodwill Outlet on State St! I’ve gotten bookshelves for $1 at the latter and large mirrors + rocking chairs for under $10, and last time I was there, every single sofa was under $100. good luck, OP!
