Ivy Wok (formerly Ivy Noodle) is my all time fave for cheap and quick noodles. Mecha is a little more fancy and also delicious.

Want odd ones like expensive meats or eggplant?

Menya Gumi

Cheap-ish? York St. noodle house

College hangout staple? Mecha

The “legit” place? Kuro shiro

And finally, the outliers that aren’t ramen but definitely noodles: Ten Second Yunan noodle and Tiger Daddy (some type of hot pot dish and sushi)

Also bonus for classic take out, china king

Tad bit more pricey asian cuisine would be steamed+ or taste of china. If you want thai, korean, or vietnamese…thats a new list

Menya Gumi is my current favorite, the most authentic and not too heavy. Chicken based stocks for most part. Cool owner too.

Mecha is a bit on the heavier side but very tasty.

I find Kuro Shiro decent but the pork itself is really lacking which is important.

Honestly my favorite ramen in the area is Roishi in Hamden. It used to be iishin in west haven before it closed though.

Menya Gumi is the only answer.

Just a little side note - York st noodle is closed. The owners have other restaurants. They merged York st and Anaya on chapel. They even put up the sign for York st and have the same menu it’s just not in the little nook on York st anymore. They also had a noodle place across the street from mecha noodles however it’s now called NOA and more of a family style restaurant. The menu for the old restaurant is also at anayas. And lastly noodle house in orange on boston post rd. And it’s still there and the menu is very similar to the one you’ll find at Anayas. Still amazing noodles
