Best gas station to fill up tires?

I’ve lived here for three years and still can’t find a good gas station where I can fill up my flat tires on my car. Any places in town where the air pump actually works?

yeah, this is a big source of frustration for me. i have taken to just topping them off when i stop at a highway rest area, because their pumps are basically always in decent shape.

I don’t know why this is getting downvoted. I had a not so slow leak and had to fill my basically flat tire to get to the shop. Bicycle pump worked with about 5 minutes of intense effort. I was amped to learn I could fill at home.

CT law states that gas stations must provide FREE air for motorists during times they're open. Gas station attendants have a switch inside at the counter (and some air stations have a switch on the side), which disables the payment function.

Many gas stations accept "free" air pumps from private sellers whose "digital diagnostic" pumps are activated by payment. The seller installs and maintains the pump and keeps the profit. The "payment bypass" switch the gas station attendant activates usually inactivates these added "features," but still allows for basic use.

Got nothing for you in New Haven. I’ve never found one.

I use the Shell on New Haven Ave and Old Gate Lane in Milford. Dogtown is down the street and a pretty good excuse to go.

Buy a portable one and fill up whenever and wherever you need to. This is what I started doing. Plugs into your car and fills up within 5 minutes.

I always go to whatever Stop and Shop I'm nearest to. You often have to ask the attendant to turn the machine on, but they always oblige (and are required to).

Sunoco station on Rt 67 Seymour. My Acura came with a pump. They don’t cost too much.

I don’t think you understand. We’re discussing circumstances in which air pumps, all being free by state law, might have more advanced functions disabled in the absence of (optional) payment. Advanced functions that Temporary-Car7981 mentioned in passing, and which I remarked that I had never seen.
