I work in food service so I have lots of practice. I've thought about this myself, but never followed through. Maybe because of it being right in front of me--but, the result is that my Spanish is very much noun-centric and useless outside of a kitchen.

Online classes plus being in a place where everybody speaks it would do a lot. You might not need formal classes. Check Craigslist, there might be some tutors there.

My partner takes weekly classes on Skype with a teacher from Ecuador, just FYI in case you strike out.

I use Verbling. It’s online, so not specific to New Haven, but you can choose from tutors all around the world. I love it after my first couple months. Very affordable as well. I pay $20 per 1 hour session.
