I'm so stunned over this. I'm heartbroken for Laurie. I watched Chris grow up from a toddler to a wonderful man and father. He will be dearly missed. My heart goes out to his mom, family, and friends.

Sad over this. I met Chris when I rented the apartment above his. He was always a bright light, even when we hung out last summer.

Can you tell us more for those who didn’t know him, like myself?

He was a quiet observer as a young child. You would think him shy but when he finally spoke, he had very thoughtful or inquisitive things to say. How do I explain my adoration of this child. He had a calming presence. I felt happy anytime I saw him coming down the street holding his mom's hand. He was special to me(to so many) and as it happened, I watched him grow up in our city. Whether teen or as a man, beloved still. I think we all felt proud of his mom, of our city, for how he turned out. His brave, kind heart. His loyalty. Good father. Good son. Son of New Haven.

Man this is heavy. I left New Haven a decade ago. He was such a small kid when I left. My heart breaks for his mother. Awful news.

This is so heartbreaking. Lauri is one of my favorite people, and Chris ( along with his kids) was her world. They both have the hearts of New Haven.
