A bedframe in near perfect condition from crate and barrel (sigh), two tall standing mirrors (5.5 feet tall, both of them. I got two nice barstools, a really cute pink chair that I use for my desk but could also be used for a vanity. I nice MCM style dark blue velvet armchair, two matching bookshelves that are very sturdy if a bit minimalist, a great dog crate, cover and bed pad for a smaller dogs, another little STURDY metal frame folding table that holds my TV and a vegan leather couch that folds back and is a decent bed, it's good faux leather too, it's aged like leather. I also have this...super sick electric "seated" scooter that looks like an electric bike which I'm still considering holding onto because it cost so fucking much (3500 brand new) but will likely have to sell. I also have a couple surf skate decks, one of which I've modified and rides like a death trap but I'm not a good skater and one YOW deck, also surf skate since that's what the company makes in essentially perfect condition. If those don't go I'm going to take out the truck mod on the death trap one and just give these away at the skate park. They were both over $200 at time of purchase but ah well.

I also have a bunch of other random shit that will be hard sells. They are related to my hobbies so I've got like a soldering iron, small battery powered mini dremel tool and some plants, I'm thinking of boxing up the related items and just listing those for a super low price ($10 or less) because I just hate to be so wasteful and just let it go to a landfill.

Also finally I have some decent clothing. The majority of my clothes are going to be donated but I have a few nice pieces of suiting and jean shorts from J. Crew and madewell that still have tags.

My true heartbreak is the miniature paper craft models of the town in spirited away that I built (im also really into minis. I'll give those away but I just want to try and find someone who might appreciate them.

Contact the yale farm. They have volunteer days. Maybe when you are there will be one of those days? I used to volunteer there till i moved away.

Bar makes its own beer and has great pizza. Its on crown st.

I know you said breweries - but chamard vineyard in clinton and goveia winery in wallingford are worth dropping by.

The breweries in stony creek are good.

Yes - the view from east rock is great.

Check out hammonasset beach.

Check out the bike trails in ct that go along the former trolley lines. Go running along them or find a bike to rent. They go for miles way up north.

Guilford, Madison, Old Saybrook, Niantic / East Lyme have cute downtowns and beaches. Niantic has The Book Barn, a large used book store with multiple buildings / locations and a boardwalk. Madison has RJ Julia bookstore. Many town beaches are free during the off-season and I believe Hammonasset is free for everyone right now including non-residents. Seaside State Park in Waterford is cool, it’s an old sanatorium right on the water.

My favorite solo getaway spot is visiting RJ Julia in Madison! It’s the cutest indie bookstore about a 30 min drive away from New Haven. They have a cafe in the back of the store with great lunch and coffee options. It’s also a 2min drive from the store to a small uncrowded boardwalk area where you can chill out and see the water. I also like to stop at Blazing Fresh Donuts in Guildford on the drive home - best donuts I’ve ever had, and they make them all fresh.

Stony Creek is a cool place but it can be kind of a rowdy bar crowd depending on when you go, and the beer isn’t great.

East Rock Brewing is a nice spot and they brew almost exclusively lagers. You can get yourself any pizza or other food and bring it in to eat there, which is also nice.

Counterweight Brewing is a little bit of a drive away but their beer is excellent and their taproom is nice. They usually have a food truck outside, the best of which in my opinion is Smetana on Wednesdays.

If you want to hike, East Rock has some trails through the woods including giant steps which takes you to the top. If you aren’t going to go fully outdoorsy in this trip, you can still walk to the top of East Rock because the roads to the summit are closed to cars except for Sundays.

It can also be nice just to walk around downtown to see some of the Yale architecture. You can start by the law school and walk inwards through old campus.

I’d you’re looking for food at night, Tavern on State is a great choice. I also love Sherkaan and NOA right now. The city does have a really excellent food scene.

Hope your interview goes well! We’d love to have you here.
