So I know it's not summer yet, but I've had a huge craving for RIBS and I need helping finding a spot. I'm in the Parsippany area if that helps. I've tried Tino's BBQ and it's very meh. Wasn't so good. Maybe it was a bad day for them. I used to go to Tiffany's on Rt 46 for amazing ribs from Joe but they closed down.

Is there ANYWHERE within 20-30 minutes that has bomb ass kicking ribs? I've tried so many places but none are actually good or slow cooked. I know it's March so it'll be harder to find a place, but still, can anyone help?

edit: love how everyone is suggesting places but they're all "meh"

Pulled Fork in Long Valley. Worth the drive but they sell out early and the menu constantly changes.

Well, good suggestion but not sure if you've been on their site recently, "Closed until Tuesday Feb 28th"

That just means they're closed this week(end). They're always closed Sunday and Monday. Great Texas style BBQ. Their sauce is a bit too sweet but since he knows how to smoke, you don't need sauce. They were open today when I drove by. He's a Longhorn so kinda frail, could just be a bit too cold. ;) l"l' 'l"l Boomer Sooner!

Finks bbq.. Amazing food...location was decent..[i only say decent because parking at suffern was a bish]. i went to the suffern location but there is one in dumont i am told...

I used to work for Dave and his BBQ is some of, if not THE best around. He hasn't been to the Dumont location in a VERY long time, it operates on its own and gets the smoked proteins from his Suffern location. He had a pop-up in a brewery in Nyack at which he'd actually spend time, but it was the same deal with bringing the smoked protein from Suffern. Really, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Fink's BBQ, and it's definitely worth the drive from Parsippany (to OP). I cannot say enough good stuff about Dave Fink and his establishment https://finksbbqroadhouse.com/

Jim Dandy's (Nutley and Rutherford) and Buffalo's (Wood-Ridge) come to mind. Mighty Quinn's on route 3 W in Clifton. To be fair, I'm not much of a rib guy (despite being "the rib guy" in a commercial for Buffalo's years ago). Oh, there's also Kimchi Smoke in Ridgewood and Westwood.

Used to also have Hot Rod's in Wharton, and another place in Rockaway or Jefferson that I'm blanking on at the moment. I believe they're closed as well.

Texas Smoke and yeah they're closed along with Hot Rod's.

It's catering only but Cooley's BBQ has really good ribs. I've used him for a few family parties and everyone loved the ribs. Cooley's

i've been on a search for good bbq in jersey, and it's pretty sad up here. the best spot i've had within a half hour drive of you is Bailey's in Blauvelt NY. Bomb up 287 and it's right by the Palisades Mall.

i still think i make the best ribs around over in Caldwell...I've had people begging me to start selling them lol

The Real Deal BBQ on Rt 31 in Glen Gardner is pretty good. Haven't had his ribs but his chicken was good to the point that I would try them.

Uncle Joe’s 5 star bbq in branchville. Find him on Facebook and you can send him a message for when he’s cooking.

A bit out of the range, but mutiny bbq in Asbury park is good stuff.

Sad state of affairs when I can't think of a decent place within an hour and a half with good ribs.

There is Double S smokehouse in Augusta. They are in the Sussex Miners stadium. The pulled pork nachos are really good.

It's not a bbq place but Fire in West Caldwell has surprisingly good ribs (it's a rotisserie chicken place). Very easy ride from Parsippany down 46E and take the right fork to merge onto Bloomfield.

You won’t be sorry. There’s a dive bar connected called the mud hole for an after dinner drink if u like.

Sounds like a great place to take my wife for our monthly date. Dive bars usually gets her to let her hair down and she kicks back and let's loose so I'm looking forward to grabbing some drinks there too°

Not sure if I'm more excited about the ribs or the alcohol we'll consume 🤣

Minute man bbq in Morristown is by far the best I’ve had in the state. Good whiskey bar too. Hilariously the Morristown shoprite has smokers and makes decent ribs.

I’ve not had but red white and que is supposed to be legit too.

Jim dandy’s is what most bbq is like up here. It’s fine but def not real bbq.

Might Quinns on rt3, also has a beef rib that is worth trying. Their brisket and burnt ends are better than their regular ribs, too.

I'm in a apartment. the best I got is slow cooking ribs in a thing for 8 hours, then I turn the broil setting on in my oven and do that for 5-10 min. It's the best I got right now with my living situation. I was just curious about locations because I hate the clean up and prep lol

2

MonkeySherm t1_j9selrz wrote

My mother does hers in the oven and finishes them on the grill, and they always come out bonkers. You could do the same with the broiler. It’s no different than a smoker other than the smoke, but if you want messy ribs the sauce and rub can get you pretty far.
