Around $100-200. But i thought I read that they can also suspend the car registration until the tint is removed. BUT it’s allowed in the back and passenger windows

I paid $750 the time i went to court for it…. if was just a ticket and pay online $55!

LiftCats t1_j7z46aq wrote

$54 state wide. If you got a court appearance, the ticket is not for tints.

what else could it be for? that’s the only ticket i got originally pulled over for speeding

What is the 39:?????? statue written on it? There could be multiple.

Royal_Collar3101 t1_j7z5tip wrote

39:3-75.3A failure to exhibit medical window tint authorization card/certificate

LiftCats t1_j7z600h wrote

That’s strange because normally they would just give 39:3-75. I think that sub statute is for not having the medical certificate with you (assuming you claimed to Have one) so the court appearance would probably be to exhibit it to the court to prove you in fact have one.

never asked me why i had my car tinted just asked for the certification

You might be able to attend court remotely. I was able to sometime last year for a violation that required court appearance. Call the number provided and find out

Get a note from your eye doctor that it’s medically necessary.

bought the car with the tint… why should I have to remove the tint ?

Lol are you serious? I bought the car that isn’t street legal. Why should I have to change anything? Lol

Edit: Officer, the car had no doors or seatbelts when I bought it so you can’t give me a ticket.

Officer, the car was spewing an opaque black cloud of smoke when I bought it so I don’t need to get it inspected.

Lol so dumb

That's not a Karen thing lmao You broke the law and now have to deal with the consequences. You whining about it is definitely much more in line with "Karen" behavior.

Wait the guy who bought an illegal car and then complained about it is calling people a Karen? Yikes.

ROFLMAO, Karen look in the mirror and ask how stupid you are - I hope the fine is painful.

I have had tints on the front windows for going on 10 years. Only pulled over once….the windshield is what did you in bc it’s more noticeable obviously. Police suck nuts.

Jimmytowne t1_j7xlyg7 wrote

Tint protects skin and interior of car. No reason it should be illegal. The law is there because police need to see in the front of the car. The law should instead state you need to roll your windows down if you get pulled over. It’s not a driving safety issue because a) police tint their windows and b) many states allow tinted windows

You're not wrong - less sun means less sun damage, but you're kidding yourself if you think this is why people tint their windows . They like the look and the anonimity it provides. Sort of like guys who wear sunglasses at night.

Feeling cool and looking like a douche should not be illegal in NJ, half the population would be in jail
