(Had to rewrite my post since I wrote it when I was mad last night hehe) Hello, we talked to two parking officers today since our neighbour kept complaining about our car blocking their driveway. There was a heated discussion last year, just before them having a routine of calling ticket officers to complain about us, about how the street parking in front of them were theirs and that whenever they get home, we should move our car so that they can park there.

During this heated discussion, there was a ticket officer playing as the middle man and told them to be considerate since first of all, the street is government property. And second, our car is clearly not blocking the driveway.

After their unsuccessful bs, they are now calling ticket officers every now and then to complain, which most of the time we successfully talked to the officers about the issue. And they all answered us the same thing - WE ARE NOT BLOCKING THE DRIVEWAY. Last night really took a toll on me since they called for two times!!! Wtf even late at night!

And to the people who answered that you won't receive tickets if you didn't do anything. WE NOW TOOK PICTURES OF OUR PARKED CAR EVERY TIME WE RECEIVED RANDOM TICKETS AND SAVED VIDEO RECORDINGS FROM OUR RING TO SHOW AS PROOF THAT WE DIDN'T MOVE OUR CAR BEFORE TAKING THE PICTURE. :-)

Anyway, had to rewrite this since I was mad and tired from work last night, so I didn't reread it before posting. Sorry.

Completely unclear. You use "paid tickets" and "parking ticket", but don't seem to be speaking of a parking summons issued by a cop.

Well, that's the thing! We didn't understand the first two tickets at first because we're not blocking the driveway. These were issued because the neighbor wanted to park their car in our parking spot (which is a street parking only). So then we made sure to check constantly since they tend to report randomly if ever we parked at the spot that they wanted to park.

Talked to the officers in charge on that day and discussed our side for us to prevent from receiving a ticket. Officers then will check and tell if we're blocking their driveway, but was told that we don't. And it's been happening for a few months now.

I’m still not understanding. You park your car on the street. This is not a private parking lot or something is it?

Is it correct to say that your car is NOT blocking their driveway, but is parked between two driveways on the street, so in front of a home? Are you parking in front of your neighbors house and that’s why they are mad? They do not own the street parking in front of their home. Can you not park in front of your own home?

I cannot imagine that a traffic officer would give you a ticket, even if they have been called by the neighbor, if you are not parked illegally. How do you even call a traffic officer?

I’m not really sure what to tell you, maybe take a picture of your car every time you park and then if you get a ticket take another pic with the ticket still on your car to prove the car was parked legally?

Or see if you have a case for harassment on the neighbor if they keep calling the traffic police on you?

Or call the traffic police yourself and ask them why they keep coming when they know you are parking legally.

OP is annoyingly unclear. They wouldn’t get a ticket if they didn’t violate a law.

Edit: most likely language barrier. If the car is parked on the street, its free public parking space (unless its handicap parking and be mindful of parking certain hours, 2hr parking limit etc). If they keep calling the police and you see them, get it documented with a report. If not make sure that a cad entry was made. You can then take them to the local court for harassment charges.

Wrote this one when I was mad af.

We got tickets from our neighbors complaining about blocking the driveway, which clearly is not. We successfully talked to the 2nd officer yesterday because we were reported for two times about it, and both officers told us the same thing - we are not blocking the driveway. And that it is clear the neighbours just want you to have a ticket. Told us that they can't do anything about it since they're just being told anonymously, which they even showed us their app.

The other times that we were not able to talk to the officers because we were busy, so instead of checking it properly. They just gave us one. Prob here is that we park like the way we supposed to. What would we benefit from being the assholes here? Everyone wants to have a hassle-free day.

They did this since last year. It's becoming annoying now since we have to constantly check outside to see if there will be another parking officer.

Actually, I saw a body cam from the ticket officer yesterday, so is it possible to request for a copy of the video? It was the time that a ticket officer was the middle man because of the heated discussion with the neighbors outside; they were arguing how that street parking is theirs, which didn't end well for them that time.

Yeah, it's hard to deal with the neighbours. So we took pictures of car parked and their driveway for every tickets that we received and saved the videos from our ring for proof that we didn't move our car before taking the pictures.

I hate to say it but you are in a no-win situation. They will find something else to complaint about - if it is not parking, it will be the garbage cans, snow removal, noise. You just hope the police stop responding to their calls - or just do a drive by to calm them.

Are you saying the police are writing you tickets without seeing that you parked correctly or incorrectly?

Who knows, maybe they are parking some oversized vehicle on their tiny driveway and need 3 feet to the side of where the driveway meets the street. Best thing would be for some yellow paint approved by the town marking where your car can't be parked on the street.
