Glen Rock is great because it has two train lines plus the bus into the city.

Consider the Middletown area for the ferry. Huge upgrade to my commute.

Drive to summit and take the train from there. Very common commute! Or Berkeley heights if you want more house and can take like 5-10 extra minutes to the summit station

Nah good for you. Hustling pays off. I just can't imagine ever having a budget of 800k. We were pre approved for $650k in June 2020 but settled on a $390k house (and overpaid). Good luck in your search my friend!

Westwood in Bergen County. Great downtown shopping and restaurants as well with NJ Transit train stop, good schools, nice homes

Check into Cranford. Great neighborhood vibe and has a train into the city. More central than north, but worth looking into.

I have no idea what you really want to argue about. I am here asking suggestions for towns based on people's experience. Chill

Dude, where in this entire thread did I mentioned I will travel from AC to NYC ? That was response to your weird question about where in the map the commute would be over 2 hours. AC to NYC will of course be over 2 hours.

  1. Cranberry (HS is Princeton, but taxes are half of what princetonians pay), plus Princeton Junction train station has express trains to newark (and then continue into Penn station)

  2. West Windsor

  3. South Brunswick

The above 3 are good options if you are looking for a less crowded suburban lifestyle.

Commute would likely be about 1hr 30min, but you get more bang for your buck on the house when compared to north jersey

Edgewater would be good if you can find a decently priced house and taxes are pretty low.
