The only people I know who go to St. Peter’s are practicing Catholics, which is why I thought they were having recent troubles … not enough patients.
I couldn’t imagine non-Catholics going there given RWJ is right there, much larger, and non-religious. I’m biased, because I believe that abortion and contraceptives are essential healthcare, and Catholic hospitals should be outlawed because they refuse to provide those services. But I’m not a fan of religious-run hospitals in general. (Seventh-day Adventists seem awful, too; you find their hospitals in Florida and other regions.)
I knew someone years ago who thought Barnabas was still a Catholic hospital, and she said if she was severely burned she’d rather die than be treated at their burn unit. This friend was intelligent but it should be noted had severe religious trauma. But because of her I thought that Barnabas ditched its religious affiliation because too many non-Catholics were refusing to be treated there.
