I’ve driven around in different states like Texas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas, and etc and I noticed people drive around the same speed as most people in Jersey on the highways, even on the left lane. Ive even seen people drive around 100mph in some of these states.

Because our speed limits are lower than in a lot of other states, so we're going further over the limit

NJ you have 55-65 mph speed limits on narrow curvy roads, and people are pushing 85-90 pretty regularly, occasionally you see 100+. Somewhere like Kansas you have 75mph speed limits on empty interstates, where 85-90 is just not that fast.

Because a disproportionate number of TV and film writers live and work in New York City. New Yorkers come to NJ and get annoyed by jughandles and driving on the Turnpike, develop hatred for the state, and then write jokes about New Jersians being shitty into their shows. People who've never been to NJ hear those jokes. If they ever do come to the state they're primed to look for bad driving and if they see an example even once while here they say "Ah just as I suspected!" and perpetuate the cycle.

driving I-80 in Nebraska it's a two lane road except for Omaha. Driving I-95 in NJ it's a six lane road.

Because they drive the same speed as TX drivers but the speed limit is 55 instead of 70 or 75. NJ is the only state I've seen people pass troopers at 15 over and not tap the breaks. Speeding is more acceptable here.
