I just officially got offered a role in Wayne nj and am deciding whether to take it or not. What is there to do in Wayne nj or nearby? I enjoy nature, parks , dining out with friends. Is there an active meetup group in New Jersey? Is it hard to get an apartment if you have a medium sized dog? Also noting salary is 90k.

Apartments are available buy you will have a hard time finding anything under 2300 or 2400 which will be tough at 90l per year.
Hawthorne NJ has apartments that allow small pets around the 1800 dollar range. Cable TV is going to cost you a fortune. Everything in NJ is expensive but it's a great place to live

You could look north of Wayne, it'll be a little cheaper. Bloomingdale, Riverdale, Butler, etc. Plenty of hiking and outdoor space in North Jersey, a significant portion of the northwest of the state is made up of state forests.

I am in Wayne quite a bit for work. You are close to the city and can easily take the bus. Obviously close to Hoboken and Jersey City as well. Sussex has stokes state park and a few others that are nice for day trips. Bushkill falls isn’t too too far either. Wayne also has Packanack Lake which has nice walking. Nice restaurants and you are within driving distance of a lot of cities. Probably forgetting things too.

Great area for nature walks/hikes. There are a ton of parks, reservations and other hidden pathways to explore. Also lots of good restaurants in the surrounding area.

If you can drive, it’s a great spot. You got a mall, a Whole Foods, easy access to major highway. Plenty of outdoor activities, and still easy access to the city.

Lots of nature and hiking near there. Short drive to all of the NJ Highlands and even places in NY.

Great location to live. Just expensive to set up.

Depends what you were making in TX. If you have a significant other you would be living/splitting bills with, etc.

$90k is a good salary, so you'll be fine, but it would probably be a similar to $60k salary in Houston in terms of quality of life. If you move further West/North West in NJ, the money would go a lot further if you're willing to do a 45 minutes commute.

I live less than 10 minutes from Wayne, so feel free to PM me if you have any more questions or want someone to tell you the best food spots when you move!
