Yes.
It's crazy (or was) but I have friends in LA (I used to live there) so I hear the stories about crazy prices. West LA is ridiculous. Hancock Park has gone through the roof. Even Mid-Wilshire. Despite apartments being built everywhere. The single house prices are probably higher there. I don't know the condo and rental prices there, but I am sure they're no bargain. Those may actually be higher here, at least for Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn.

I live in Northern California. It may be cheaper (maybe higher) than Southern California, but I know Manhattan has always been the most expensive place in the world,
