South Mountain Reservation is always nice. Don't know about drones, though.

They stopped issuing permits, it used to be $25 or so for a yearly permit. I got one in 2020 and then they cancelled all permits when the pandemic shutdown happened. I looked into getting another one, and haven't seen the option anymore.

All of North Jersey. For less houses, any State park. Be prepared for traffic.

Merrill Creek Reservoir is a hidden gem and the foliage in the area is PEAK and won’t last long. Drone footage of the surrounding area ought to be gorgeous.

Ramapoo reserve and if you don’t mind driving a little further go to Harriman state park, 7 lakes drive

Harriman will probably have less traffic, Ramapo (although Ramapoo is pretty funny) gets busy this time of year.

For a good hike and less traffic try Ringwood, look up Wyanokies hikes. I've hiked all of Northern NJ and it feels like Vermont. Drones require a permit in all state parks, as far as I know. Doesn't seem to stop people though.
