I swear I have been to so many barbers, small shops and chains like great clips (a great spot btw) in the north nj area. Any time I ask for a “taper” or “low” fade they always either laugh in an annoyed way that I’m asking for something so specific with a funny name (great clips) or say yea of course man I got you (regular barber) and proceed to give me a regular fade. I even showed this picture to a place once and guy was like “thats just called a fade, taper means it gets shorter” like uh no I’m sorry there are different types of fades. I know this is kind of a played out early 2000’s “guido jersey shore” look but it happens to suit my face shape nicely. It only looks corny if you spike it up with tons of gel like Pauly D did. In the picture I posted the guy has a more natural style on top.

Thanks

When I saw that I thought of Klay Thompson.

This father & son are not fancy or in your area but they know what they are doing and they are doing it well.

Go to Charlie at Camarottas in Wayne. He does a sick cut. Tell him the guy with the GTI sent you.

My advice being in the barber industry for a few years. Lot of barbers were on Instagram. I’d look up a shop on IG and find their barbers. Honestly just looks like a taper on the neck and around the ears with scissors around the rest. Only go to barber shops don’t go to salons, chains, etc.

(OP)I’m sorry but did you really spend time looking or did you just come here to complain? Literally took me a Google map search with a click to their IG to find that they do quality fades. Sheesh.
