We have cut trees in our backyard and want to see where we can dispose of the wood. Does anyone have a suggestion around Old Bridge, NJ? We are willing to drop it off rather than request a pick-up.

According to page 51 of the course offerings, woodworking is offered at Old Bridge HS starting in grade eleven.
The list of Design Tech teachers is here. Maybe copy all of them on an email and ask if they’re looking for free wood.

If the local school doesn't want it, I'm sure someone on Facebook market place would pick it up to use for projects or for their wood stove. If I were closer, I would!

I'm always looking for someone to take wood.
This probably isn’t helpful, but we always leave our wood out on the curb and people typically take it for firewood. You could leave it there until you find a home for it. I hope the school takes it!
I’d like to do this but there are 13 trees about, which I think will be too much to keep somewhere for people to pick up. Im giving it some thoughts though.
Wow that’s a lot of trees! I don’t blame you. We took down a single massive (infected) tree. The tree company couldn’t take it because their truck was full and it took up several car lengths on the curb. So 13 would be an awful lot!
What species of trees? If they are hardwood like oak, maple, ash, etc…, it would be good for firewood or possibly for lumber if it’s cut long enough. If it’s softwood like, pine, spruce or fir, then it’s a tougher sell. We used to share these species with scout groups for firewood since it burns fast.

How big around and what lengths are they cut to?
I will ask the guy who cut them down, he hasn’t cut them yet either. That may be Monday.
If the pine is big enough someone might be interested in milking it into useful planks. The maples will really depend on the which kind. Red and sugar maple can be cool for slabs, Norway and swamp maple not so much. Could be good for free firewood if it’s cut to 18-20” pieces.
I think he’s going to cut them into useable pieces, it’s just a matter of where we can dump them. We don’t want money, we just want to get rid of it for space but I keep trying to call places in NJ and I’m Either getting no OR no answers.
There’s a lot of free wood out there. Use Facebook or local online resources. The species are not great for readily giving away.

Check with local school(s). If they have Woodshop (sometimes called Industrial Tech), they may take it off your hands.
