Not much, it's mostly just an upper middle class suburb. You can go walk around Watchung Reservation.

Haha, I usually go shopping on route 22.

Hopefully you’ll have a car, anything worth doing will be in a surrounding town or off of route 22. Watchung itself doesn’t have a true downtown and is mostly hilly roads with no sidewalks and lots of trees. Summit and Westfield are cute towns close by where you can walk around downtown and ogle beautiful houses. As others have suggested, walking through the Watchung Reservation and Feltville is also a good time. If you’re into local theater, The Papermill Playhouse in Millburn is doing The Sound of Music. And if all else fail, hop on the train and go into NYC.

Is next door to Watchung but in Warren 4 Brothers is a bunch/Soul Food spot it's good but gets crowded fast. Look at houses by driving around. And Watchung Resonation.

Watchung Reservation is great. I live 30 minutes away and I usually visit multiple times. Westfield has a great downtown. If you're into arcade games I would wholeheartedly check out Yestercades.
Cranford is slightly further but their downtown is nice too. Nothing to "Do" but shop really. And as treacherous as route 22 is it leads to a lot of cool places to shop and eat.
Also if you find a time machine somehow, check out Bowcraft.

It’s been years since bowcraft was open lol they closed a few years back

Hence why I recommend a time machine 😉

Every time i see that town name, i can't help but utter, "Everybody have fun tonight. Everybody have Watchung tonight!"

For the most part, it’s a tiny, sparsely populated suburb/exurb. Outside of a few restaurants and the retail stretch on route 22, there is nothing to do in Watchung proper. If you’re willing and able to travel, there are a ton of state and county parks, fun cities, and museums. What kinds of things do you like to do?

There are a few sopranos sites near by - I would check that out. Go for a hike. Verona has a lake that’s nice.

Verona is not at all near Watchung.

The Watchung Reservation is nice for a hike. Check out the Deserted Village of Feltville there. You're also pretty close to Westfield which has a nice downtown area with shops/restaurants.
