Hi guys - I am looking to move to NJ from NYC and was wondering how is the West NY neighborhood? Is it noisy or dangerous? I currently live in the Bronx and can't stand the noise level.

For real OP do not underestimate how urban this area is. The population density is greater than every borough of NYC save for Manhattan

It's not quiet.

Probably not too noisy from one of the higher floors of those apartment/condo towers…

Perth Amboy reminds me of the Bronx, just smaller. I was in the Bronx for a long time and it was always quiet, so not sure what section you are near.

Hmmm seems like mixed experiences. I live on the grand concourse around Bedford park. Super loud.... People blasting music on the sidewalk from cars and boom box until 5am and the dirt bikes .... Ugh

WNY is not as loud as the Bronx but not quiet like the suburbs. Not super dangerous. Since you’re pretty close, I’d recommend planning a day for a visit around the area.

The kind of quiet your looking for requires a 90 minute morning commute to get to wtc path or penn.
You save money but lose time

So people hangout side in front of buildings blasting music?

It’s super densely populated and def urban as opposed to suburban. Not as loud as the Bronx, but can be loud at times. The views of NYC can be pretty awesome from some places in WNY.
