Girlfriend is Chinese and we’re looking for authentic Chinese food that would be similar to what you would see in China. We know where to look in the city, but we were hoping to find something in Passaic, Morris, Sussex (probably nothing here), Bergen, Hudson, or Essex. If anyone knows of any place, I’d appreciate it. Been to Hunan Taste in Denville, and it was good, but we are looking for other spots as well.

Drove by this one last weekend. Caught our eye and have heard good things about it.

My Chinese wife says it's more Cantonese style. Gets packed on weekends for dim sum.

The other one we go to is Chengdu 23 near Willowbrook Mall, for Sichuan.

Let me just say, that whole area in Parsipanny is one amazing Asian food paradise. Let me explain with examples.

Literally Across the street from Qin Dynasty is V-Yan Hot Pot. One of the BEST hot pot places in the area since there aren't many.

Then, in that SAME plaza, is Noodle Wong which has amazing Dim Sum and Chinese food.

Want Hibachi/Sushi? NEXT DOOR to Qin Dynasty is Sakura Japan which has great food and atmosphere.

How about some authentic Pho/Vietnamese?! Remember that SAME plaza with Hotpot/Dim Sum? There's ALSO Pho Binh Duong

Need some snacks to take home after that great meal? Literally, again, in the same plaza is the Asian Supermarket, Top Quality Food Mart. Shoprite too if needed

You can get everything you want in that small radius of space. I work at Home Depot there and just am so satisfied with my local stuff. There's tons of authentic Indian/Middle Eastern food in the same area if interested

2nding Chengdu 23. They've been turning out real, actual Szechuan food for years now.

Qin Dynasty in Parsippany does fantastic dim sum on Sundays, but it gets very crowded at peak hours.

Qin dynasty and Noodle Wong are both in Parsippany, they’re Cantonese style and delicious. People like Shan Shan noodles in parsippany, I believe they make their own noodles. V yan hot pot also has Chinese style hot pot options. I love China chalet in Florham Park, it’s my absolute favorite. A&J bistro is in east hanover and has Taiwanese style food. I used to like Mr Chu in East Hanover but I haven’t been there in a long time. I LOVE soup dumpling plus in Fort Lee!!! There’s two Asian supermarkets by me, one in Parsippany and one in East Hanover that always has hot Chinese food that you can buy too.

Joyce is legit one of my favorite restaurants, cuisine aside. Some friends of ours who lived in China says it’s some of the best szechuan food to be had around.

We eat there at least once a week, they are also very friendly!

Edit: it’s on Kinderkamack in River Edge

Caveat emptor this one…just another opinion below.

We used to go weekly but starting 10 years ago it’s been sliding down hill in quality. We stopped going a few years ago altogether.

Never get whatever they say is the daily special, they pushing old inventory.

Ranch Market 99 in Hackensack has a pretty kicking authentic food court, and some of the smaller restaurants (like Hot Fish) around the plaza are pretty good.

In Sussex County, in Newton, Thai Na Khon at 7 Woodside Ave has awesome Thai food. There's Chun Bo around the corner that's Chinese but it's not the greatest.
