hey everyone.

i’ve become part of the great wave of tech layoffs. i applied for unemployment in september and received a confirmation. however, the site is still saying due to an unprecedented number of claims…system unavailable…blah blah blah.

it’s been two months. any advice?

Call your local assembly or senate office - they have someone dedicated to working on issues like this.

This is the answer! I had a similar problem last year, and started to receive benefits less than a week after calling my state assemblywoman’s office.

That’s really annoying. I unfortunately was laid off a few weeks ago and put in my unemployment claim the same as my termination. I got my first check direct deposited last week. The process is not well documented, I’ll give you that

you applying and hearing back made me think to apply again. This time it says pending, which it didn’t before, so thank you!

Go on unemployment site Hit check claim status. Fill out eight things. On next page go to self service options and make an appointment. Might be in mid December, pick a place closest to you with closest time

You spelled “unenjoyment” wrong. Count on it never coming through. Do something else. Stop stressing over it cause the system is broken and by the time you get it, it just isn’t worth it. Or make it the focus of your existence, call your local state senator, chase dead end leads, maybe speak to a bureaucrat once, lose sleep, wait, stress, bitch and complain….
