Tis the season for all the guys who wear shorts when it's below freezing to come out of hibernation to show off their cold resistant calves :) I saw 4 of them this morning when the windchill was 19 degrees. One was, I shit you not, in flip flops.

Those guys are usually packing a few extra pounds of warmth.

They're like horses, they only have to keep the core warm.

I'm not sure if I should feel attacked or validated. 🤔

I was wearing shorts and crocs yesterday. I work outside all year long so it really has to be frigid to get to me.

I think outside of work and a wedding I wore pants maybe twice last year, this year not at all.

I saw a tiny lady in Saturday with a jacket and short shorts on. 😖

I saw a plump older woman in shorts, flip flops and a long sleeve shirt on the other day. Really glad women are striving to get equal representation in the "GO PUT ON SOME SOCKS OR SOMETHING, YOU'RE MAKING ME COLD JUST BY LOOKING AT YOU!" genre. Really glad that I'm not the one breaking that glass ceiling too, because my joints hurt if I get too cold

no different than a lady in a skirt.

Having said that, I am not showing my legs in public till sometime in the spring when the temps are encroaching on 80 degrees again.

I used to be this guy, it’s not comfortable, I don’t care what anybody says. Most of the day I was just looking for someone to ask me, “aren’t you cold?” and then I could explain to them no, the cold doesn’t bother me that much blah blah blah, now I just wear pants

The "shorts guy." Over 5'10" or under 220? Do not apply.

Nothing says “I’m a white guy” like wearing shorts when it’s freezing. “F*ck you, weather! I’m a white guy!”

I wear nude fleece lined yoga pants under black tights, a wool skirt that goes down to my knees and boots that go up to my knees, with wool socks.

It's absolutely not the same as wearing shorts. I highly recommend grabbing fleece lined yoga pants, they're great as long as you get good ones. The ones at Walmart are shit. Just feel them before you buy them, you'll be able to tell if they're any good

I have one pair of fleece lined running tights, I will def look for another pair. I walk every day, and there are days when I feel that wind cut right thru my tights. I’m thinking of heading back to hot yoga this winter. Looking like it’s going to be a cold one.

Stay safe and thanks for the nudge toward the fleece lined pants. Good call.

The wind will cut right through them no matter how good they are, they can't block the wind, you have to have something on top of them to do that, like thick tights and a lined wool skirt

The South Americans and Mexicans in my nabe do that too. I laugh when they wear a heavy jacket with a hoodie but still shorts.

I used to fight my son as he wanted to wear shorts to high school year round. I lost.

This is such a Colorado thing that whenever I see it in NJ I'm like, "dude, wtf are you doing here? Go freeze your knees off in the Rockies."

It's not worth fighting. I just say "it's cold out are you sure you don't want to wear ______". And if he says nope, I'll be fine, I wait for the I told you so that eventually happens. If it isn't going to kill or permanently harm them, let them learn the harder way.
Saturday night I took my 16YO son to the RU football game. I wore fleece lined jeans and boots. I suggested similar for him, but he said "I have wool socks on I'll be fine." As he wore thin jeans and sneakers. Guess who was cold before the end of the 1st qtr?

Gosh if you were in southern Ocean County I think that was me. My plump-ness makes me cold resistant & I literally wear flip flops year round (unless snow forces me to wear boots). I hate wearing shoes. 🤷‍♀️

No, this was in Hunterdon so there's at least two of you roaming around the state, baffling people. I've lost quite a bit of weight, but I was pretty damn plump last winter, and I bundled up like Nanook of the north because the cold is cold

I'm that guy. Was in shorts and sandals the other day. It's mostly a convenience thing. Businesses are always blasting heat so it's only kind of uncomfortable for a few minutes outside. It's not like it hurts or anything.
