When they tell you pull out on to the track, PUT YOUR SIGNAL ON. My son was dinged for that.

Go slow, don't rush anything you do, Hand over hand when turning, signal at everything, always stop before line/before stop sign...if you don't they'll fail you.

Parallel parking: use a 45 degree angle to know when to turn in.

Congratulations!!! That’s awesome. (Be careful out there during the holidays- people drive buzzed, drunk, and sleepy, so put those ‘defensive driving’ skills you learned to work!)

I've seen pictures of the cones at the dmv and they seem to be pretty spread out. If that's the case I think I'll be alright. Usually I just back up and start turning, I do it somewhat fast but its pretty accurate most times. I'm borrowing a small car to take it with so that helps too.

If you’re borrowing a car, practice everything w that car first. My parents had a manual so I borrowed an aunt’s automatic for my test but could almost not see out the back window (bc of the shape of the car and I’m short) and it almost fucked me up on the parallel parking.

I've been practicing on both types. When you get to the dmv, if you're not driving there do you need to switch seats with the licensed driver that is accompanying before you get in line to take the test?

I don’t remember, but You should be fine doing this as long as you have a permit you’re with a driver who has been licensed for X years (whatever the requirements of the permit are). Good luck!

When my kids took their driving tests, we did not have a suitable car (suburban and minivan) so they used the instructor's vehicle. There was a little piece of tape in the rear window that was placed there to help the driver align the car for the parallel parking. Always come to a smooth full stop, always signal, always look both ways. You'll do great, good luck.

I didn't have an instructor, makes me feel a little less than confident but I hope I'll do well! I've been practicing everyday.
