A few months ago I was driving from Avon-by-the-sea up to Wegmans in Woodbridge, mostly taking Route 35. Along the way I passed a /really/ big mall. Now I'm trying to remember what/where about the mall. All I can remember, other than it's massive size, is that it is on the east side of the road. Any ideas?

No, it's not the Woodbridge Mall. We've been going to that place for decades, plus that mall is north of that Wegmans.

Was it closer to Avon? Monmouth Mall? I wouldn’t call it particularly big, but not sure what else fits along 35.

I would guess Monmouth Mall, they’re constantly updating/changing store fronts and restaurants so it has construction going on. It’s in a large plaza so it does look sprawling. Were northbound and southbound separated by a grass median near the mall and a bunch of traffic lights in the area? I think that area of 35 is one of the last spots going north towards Woodbridge that primarily has grassy medians and not just concrete barriers

Specifically we drove from Avon to BJ's, and then BJ's to the Woodbridge Wegmans. The mall was between BJ's and Wegmans.

Monmouth mall. It's dumpy right now cause the nice stores left, but they are gonna renovate it into something more outdoor and modern.

On 35 you have Monmouth mall on the west side and Nordstrom rack/macys mattress and petco on the east side.
Further north you have the grove at shrewsbury. Then you have chapel hill shopping center with Whole Foods
Then you have Middletown marketplace shopping with Livotis and TJ Maxx.
Then there’s holmdel town center with Texas Roadhouse on the east side (35N) and the commons at holmdel with Best Buy on the west side.
That’s it, unless you got off 35 and ended up at Menlo Park

I think you’re confusing 36 and 35. 35 is concrete medians until you cross over 36, then it becomes undivided and redivides after Red Bank.

The location is along Route 35 between Bj's in Oakhurst and Wegmans in Woodbridge. After Wegmans we used the Outerbridge, and we were at Avon-by-the-Sea before we got to BJ's.
