You're going to have a really hard time finding any beach that allows booze in nj

Drinking and surfing is a terrible combination

I’m not recommending you empty a jug of something red and fill it with something else. I’m also definitely not recommending you put it inside of your cooler with a bunch of other normal stuff and get to the beach early when they half ass check everything. That would all be a terrible idea. Do not do it.

Unless it’s a private beach you still have the right to refuse a search.

16th Ave in Belmar is their surfing beach. Plenty of bars around in Belmar.

You can't drink on ANY public beaches in NJ. Not just the dry towns.

Technically that is correct, however you would probably not be too surprised that discretion goes a long way. If you are otherwise not causing a scene and you clean up after yourself you are unlikely to run into any issues while enjoying your beverage of choice in a cozy or cup. Even in "dry" towns.

Call a surfboard shop, a few in Pt Pleasant that also have all kinds of gear, maybe even someone working there can teach you.

Yeah... Donovan's in sea bright is literally a beach bar. And as you insinuate plenty of people just drink at the beach.

Asbury Park and I believe Sea Bright both have great places to surf.
