I see some other posts on this subject but I was looking for clarification. I am a father with a baby due on January 9th. My original plan with work was taking off a month, and then sporadically use the rest of the leave. When I went to fill out the application it says if I am using the leave in a non-continuous manner, give us the dates after you come back. Does this mean I shouldn't fill out the application until I go back to work? Also how long is the wait time to get paid? Any information would be appreciated!

So if you're taking your leave on a non-continuous basis, you have to submit a new form after you take each week. You take the month, submit that - then every week you take after you submit a new form for each week. Or you can wait and do it all at once when you're back. Depends on if you're able to wait it out on getting paid from the state or not. I took mine sporadically throughout 2022 and while it was a hassle to submit each week I took separately, it did all go through pretty well. When I took mine the wait was something like 10-13 weeks to get paid out. That was more pandemic related I think. They should be paying you out a little faster now...I would hope.
