Hello,

Newly weds here (29 and 30). Currently living in Bergen County with Family and looking to move out over the next few months.

I recently got a new job (remote) so I’ll work from home and my partner is going to travel to Parsipanny a couple of days a week.

Trying to find the following:

  1. <1 hour from Parsippany
  2. New construction (ideally) with car parking
  3. Would love to be close to nature
  4. Decent downtown
  5. Approximate budget $3000 for a 1-2 bedroom
  6. Not too crowded

Currently considering Morristown / Jersey City but would likely be out of budget.

Thanks!! :)

I would look at Morristown, Madison or Denville.

Motown isnt it anymore. Lindsley Arms are almost $2000, and that’s a papermache apartment complex

Anywhere with direct commute to NYC is going to be pricey, of you can go a town or two away, you'll be better off. Check the NJ Transit website for all train stations and then bus routes to see what your choices are. Then check the towns next to it for a relief in cost.

chester, mendham, roxbury are all great locations. for a more nature feel, try chester/long valley/mansfield

Roxbury is it, or Wharton’s new main street project

Would the priority be having more nature, or having a more vibrant downtown?

Define “close to nature”.

There are several nice parks/trails in the Morris Plains / Parsippany / Denville / Randolph general area. Several different condo/townhouse/apartment complexes along or just off route 10 and 202.

If you want new construction you can check out ‘The collection at Morris Plains’ being build on Rt53/Tabor Road. It’s townhouses/condos and not apartments, but started a year or two ago and they are expanding/building it out to a full community area.

Looking to rent? Check out apartments on Passaic Ave in Chatham. Also apartments on Main Street in the Madison area too. Around 20 mins away from Parsippany
