Eh I’ve never seen it too jammed outside of the summer months TBH, which is when every highway around the shore is jammed. If they really wanted to upgrade the highway, they would extend the eastern section (138) to Interstate standards all the way to the highway’s end in Belmar. The lights on 138 are annoying and jam up traffic

They were being sarcastic, I think. Classic highway problem - adding more lanes just leads to more cars on the road.
