What's odd since moving down to south Jersey, is almost everyone has super dark tints all around. The Philly drivers (I assume since so close) even have their front windshield limo black. I never see anyone pulled over either.

Lots of people in jersey have their front windshield tinted limo black as well. Whenever i visit my in laws in Woodbridge, I see it all over. Makes me wonder how tf that is legal and passes inspection.

Its not but cops barely enforce that shit even though cars are consistently one of the 2 or 3 leading causes of death.

But yea just let everybody have blinding headlights, blacked out windows, and lifts so high you can't see most pedestrians in front of your truck that never sees dirt

We stopped having actual inspections years ago. Today all we have is a smog check.

It’s not legal. Inspection in NJ is a joke. All they do is plug a computer in the OBD-II port to check the emissions system. If that passes the car can be falling apart and still pass.

They look for catalytic converters on sport cars too. I had to show the guy last week here in Tom's River NJ when I saw him struggling and looking around under the hood. Mine was taking way longer than anyone else's n I asked him, looking for the cat? And he answered unwillingly, yeah. I had to show him.

Yeah not really.. I take mine to an independent shop for state inspection and all they cared about was the computer. Zero care for the fact that I have a 200 cell high flow cat

I went to the free state place. How much did independent charge you? My dad pays 26 bucks or something like that.

It’s $50. I have them Mount and balance my tires and do most basic shop work… I accept the charge since I don’t want to spend thousands on stock exhaust parts that I didn’t get with the car, or go through any hassle about it

That word passes is a funny word. My truck failed because their computer said "System not ready" The inspection guy said "drive it for a while and the truck will learn" a week later the light came on. Took the truck to a local shop where they fudged to system and it passed. Three months later the light went out and all is well. Guess my truck is stupid.

It's crazy because in 2019 I got pulled over in Woodbridge for supposedly having my front windshield tinted (it wasn't) because I pulled out on 9 in front of a cop. Wasted a night having to drive for court to show proof. But years ago, man driving through South Plainfield, North Plainfield, Watchung and Scotch Plains with super tints was an automatic ticket.

Yup, there are a lot of towns I avoid because of it. My car isn’t tinted, just the factory tint it came with for the back. But my wife’s car, forget about it! Limo tints all around except for the front windshield.

How do you know why someone got pulled over?

xiixiilxxv t1_j2787bc wrote

Seeing multiple cars all day long dark tinted out along with township police and state troopers passing them or even watching them; no one is ever pulled over solely based upon tints.

Tints and seatbelts are usually what’s given instead of a moving violation if the cop is nice (haha) or there is basically nothing of note on your abstract.

Who doesn't wear seatbelts?
