That's beautiful! I loved living by the D&R canal, one of most picturesque walking trails.

very cool, used to do similar (not everyday) from Lambertville

Do you loop at certain bridges if you don't mind me asking or up & back on one side

I usually park in different places(for variety lol) and then go down and back. I recently had a knee replacement that sadly isn't healing correctly so I'm thinking about getting a trail bike to ride as well. Not very happy with this haha

Nice. I fish the canal frequently and find it so very tranquil

Amazing photos! You’re very talented. My family and I have been enjoying the D&R canal for years. In fact, we’ve been looking to buy a new house and one of the requirements is to be near the canal.

The canal's photogenic turtles are seriously under-represented here. :)

These are gorgeous! The frame itself is pretty too haha. They’re going to love this! I know my parents would.

My husband works along the D&R Canal and every time I see it I want to walk along it! Still never have. We live at the “shore” and I never even knew the D&R canal existed until I visited him at work. So basically I’m saying: it’s nice to see you utilize and appreciate the beautiful nature around you.

PS. I hope your knee heals soon! My MIL had knee replacement surgery and it seems like a hellish recovery. Feel well!

Thank you! I still talk to people who live around here and I mention it and they have no idea what I'm talking about lol. And thank you about my knee! I'm still pretty young but running too much killed it unfortunately. I'm hoping to get back into it though because I love it so much. Knock on wood!!!

This canal and the smaller one at Duke Island Park are my favorite places to get turtle pictures. All the big sun baskers are there: Cooters, Sliders, Painteds. Still, sometimes the shine off the water and/or their shells can be an issue, and of course most turtles are camera shy.

Are bicycles permitted on these paths? How about electric bikes.
