Hi friends,
I live in India and do not have detailed access to weather and local news etc. at New Jersey (and stuff we are seeing on television about the storm in the US looks scary). I have two seniors who are going to be driving from Basking Ridge, New Jersey, to the John F Kennedy airport (terminal 4), on the 3rd of January to catch international flights. I am aware they didn't have any power/electricity at home for 12-24 hrs some days back (on 24th/25th December when the storm was most intense) and had to shift to a hotel.
Is it safe for them to drive from Basking Ridge, New Jersey, to the John F Kennedy airport? Or are the roads not safe in the region? I have been rather worried (since I don't live in the US) and wondering if they need to postpone their flights. Is there a certain route you would recommend? Google recommends I-287 or the Belt Parkway. Are they two separate routes? Any advice you have that I can communicate to them would be greatly appreciated.
Also, just curious if there's any Uber sevice or something along that route? Or what other options for travelling there may be except them driving.
Thanks so much!

There's no storm in the forecast for next Tuesday (Jan 3). High of 48F. A bit of rain for Saturday (Dec 31). High of 54F on Sunday (Jan 1). Those are 9-12 degrees C temps.
The roads are clear.
