I’m trying to find some folk musicians, which naturally is a little difficult in this particular part of the country. Any ideas on where to look?

What type of folk are you interested in ?
Places around me in CNJ have various jam sessions bluegrass, Irish etc..
Folks show up, take turns leading songs, if you know them you join in if not you listen and enjoy

You could also check out local open mics in your area

We have our own NJ Folk Festival . Try reaching out, I'd bet they're up to stuff year round

Yup, check Sam Ashe or Guitar Center. They have message boards in the front of the stores. You never know what you may find.

Not sure who downvoted this but I’m serious, bands and other musicians are always looking to jam on CL

If NJ has a harmonica club, I'm sure there is a folk club of some sort!
