I live relatively close to Perth Amboy for the next few months and I realize there's about a million Mexican spots in town but it's still a black hole in my food knowledge. Folks that live around here, where's your local spot?

Update for anyone that comes on this post later:. Shrimp tacos are great, carnitas tacos are pretty good.

Yeah it’s not bad, there’s another place nearby in the Morgan section of Sayreville on rt 35, Taco Stop, it’s pretty good too.

Sabor a Mexico has a great special on Mondays for birria tacos; we’ve tried a couple in town and theirs are the best (plus all the sauces you get). Rico Taco Mex is also delicious but I recommend picking up in person; delivery app experiences have been mixed. Los Gueros is a chain but I’ve only enjoyed eating from this location and their taco Tuesday special can’t be beat. Get their salsa verde and an order of nachos too!

Saw some one mention Rosa's shrimp tacos on Hall Ave, I second that. Taco Express on New Brunswick Ave is a decent spot.

If you can make the short trip to New Brunswick, there are taquerias a dime a dozen out that way.
