Asking here because NJ is a Pharma hub, hence I wanted to see some personal ranges for PTO per year for a Pharma employee (let’s say an engineer or analyst).

Does the PTO regenerate fully at the start of every year? And shutdowns I would assume are only for the plants since the corporate staff are present year round?
shutdowns are def corporate where I am, I am not sure about plants, clinics, etc
it varies place to place but my place after year 2 I think you get your PTO up front and you can roll over some of it.
Okay, so PTO upfront meaning you get it at the start of the year (like 25 days PTO)? What’s the rollover amount?
At my pharma company, it does.

I think it depends on the company. I believe BMS offers unlimited PTO, for better or worse.
They say it’s unlimited but I believe they discourage anything above 21 days a year?
Not in the experience of those I know that work there, though for what it’s worth, statistically people with unlimited pto take off less time throughout the year.
BMS is also closed week between Xmas and new years for corporate/office employees.
4 weeks at my small Pharma. Most of the big ones will tell you on their careers page how much they have, and check glassdoor. Important to note that most will keep pto and sick separate, so it will be 15 days or whatever pto with 5 sick days. Also some shut down between Xmas and new years so remember to look at company holidays.
I’m assuming the PTO regenerates in full at the start of every year? Or does it accumulate as you go through the year?
It accumulates throughout the year, 10 days rollover.
Is this typical for the larger pharma companies also? How long does the accumulation take, like 1 day of PTO for every 20 work days?
13.33333whatever hours per month.
I'm in a big pharma and I get 15 days PTO, 5 personal days, and the ability to carry over 5 days from the prior year, and company shuts down between Christmas and New Year's.

if they are not unlimited, almost all are 4 weeks+. and as others said, many do xmas shutdown and a summer shutdown too
