Holy fuck. It's illegal to have your dog unsecured in the car here in Australia. I feel this is a very reasonable measure by the government.

I mean, you can even get dog car seats for smaller dogs, I have one, even if it was a law. But getting people to properly use child safety seats is a struggle, so there's your answer, really.

Lmao Australian 'nanny state' strikes again, car seats/booster seats are required until age 7 and recommended for kids under something like 140cm. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Faaaark, I'm still always weirdly surprised-but-not-surprised when I find out stuff like this happening in the US.

I almost saw a puppy do this exact same thing a few hours north on the 101 today. Passenger opened back truck window for dog to stick it’s head out and it was super cute until it started to try and climb into the truck bed. They got it back in but I was stressing for sure.
