Got rid of it after Trump got elected. I never knew my friends were closet racist.

I knew I had friends that leaned right but ever since Trump the full-on racism is out in the open, he normalized it. Now Kanye has basically mainstreamed antisemitism. After Kanye's rant I know see posts like "kanye saying what everyone wants to say".

Yup. I'm Jewish and it really pisses me off seeing people defend Kanye over Twitter. Like, can't we draw a line at Antisemitism?

You think if Ilhan Omar said I'm going death Con 3 on Christians tonight, and got a measley 6 hour ban like Janye would, conservatives would be defending her "free speech" rights? We have fallen so far as a nation. Very sad.

Ok, autocorrect said Janye, and I'm keeping it that way. Ha!

We haven't 'drawn a line' for anything else. We've spent the last decade seeing Republican politicians call for trans people to be assaulted, imprisoned or executed, and get cheers instead of consequences. Among no shortage of other minority groups also being blamed for all of society's problems.

Don't forget women and abortions! No one drawn there either. It's a big cluster *.

The same people cheering for this are the same ones defending Kanye. But plenty of rational people have been talking about the disgusting rhetoric.

Bro I don't even encounter visibly Jewish people in my day to day life. Like I think the last time I saw a person who was obviously Jewish, because of the curly hair things, was like 10 years ago. And I live in a major city.

You really can't develop a hatred for Jews without consuming mountains of hateful propaganda. There is no "what everyone wants to say" I legit do not give one fuck or another about someone's Jewish heritage. People need to learn to use their eyes more often.

I just got rid of my friends. I still use Facebook to talk to my sane friends and family that I otherwise wouldn't, and find out about local events in my area and other generic stuff.

But the second someone says something racist/sexist/trumpist/etc. I just unfriend them. I see way less garbage that way.

I keep one or two around just as a crazy barometer helps stay level.

I still have mine, just rarely check it. What I found "interesting" is the following: super happy Trump won, fine you voted for your choice. Then becoming absolutely livid over getting blocked or banned because they posted TrUtH about the Dems in the form of calling for death or injury to political figures. Then they got "smart" with stupid ass little comments that won't get them in trouble but they expressed themselves. Whining like fucking toddlers over issues very few of us have researched.

I have mine and very rarely use it, mostly for the only contact point for my volunteer stuff (which is as of right now on hold while I get more money to get gas there and back)

Same. And some acquaintances I'd known for years as well as some extended family.

Glad I left when I did; I never have to know what those fools thought when covid appeared.

I did the same. I work with a bunch of 20 to 30 year old mostly minority tech workers and after Trump got elected I assumed they would all be very angry like me, but it turned out they were all very happy. They had all voted for him! Unbelievable.
