It's not like US and Europe don't get waves of COVID. It'd just thay after a while we realized that it was doing more harm than good to even try to shut stuff down.

Well actually they stopped the lockdowns because with the vaccines there were fewer people dying or being in the ICU.

Right. Lockdowns in that circumstance did more harm than good.

Sure, I see your point. Some areas did half-assed lockdowns in late 2021 that were fairly pointless.

Right now we are dealing with waves of influenza, which is hitting us harder than covid. Thanks to the vaccines covid is just a very mild sickness.
