Do you also hope that civilians die again?

It's a shame people get too emotional to value peace...

Well peace is pretty easy, Russia can pack their fucking shit up and go home and then there will be peace.

Bagellord t1_irla4sy wrote

You know what would be peaceful? If fucking Putin and his cronies didn't invade Ukraine.

They can leave at any time. Nothing is stopping them.

Well, there's a few lanes closed, but still

Self defense from Russia, by Ukraine, isn't killing civilians. Russian soldiers and Putin are :)

Did civilians die the first time they blew the bridge? I’m pretty sure there weren’t any casualties at all. Correct me if I’m wrong

And the russians consider the bridge attack as an act of terrorism. They have to agree with Zelensky that Russia is a terrorist state then. Russian attacks on ukrainian infrastructure are in the 1000's, and counting.

And let’s not forget Russia’s artillery strikes on operational Ukrainian nuclear power plants while also stationing Russian military equipment inside the structure of a nuclear power plant and going “whaaa? Not us” when IAEA inspectors discovered them.

What about digging foxholes in the Red Forest inside the Chernobyl exclusion zone. Then catching the forest on fire with there on artillery. They said the soldiers started rioting when they started showing signs of radiation sickness.

These mfers live in an alternate reality. Russia as a nation and as a culture has failed. Throw it all in the trash and start over as a dozen separate countries.

I've given up believing that pointing out hypocrisy can move the needle at all on zealots (see the modern US Conservative movement). But it is good to point it out for third parties who perhaps are new to any issue or party or movement and hadn't yet seen enough information to know what's what.

Nope, trains are running again:

Edit: Appears to only be on one of the two tracks, so at a reduced rate.

VonRansak t1_irk78wi wrote

Appears to be empty load at testing crawl speed, with greatly reduced car count. Almost like they think it is possible it could break if they put too much weight or vibration in it.

VAisforLizards t1_irkti93 wrote

That would really be a shame if the rest of the bridge collapsed...

16

chucchinchilla t1_irkwuv5 wrote

As someone else commented in that thread it appears that’s just what’s left of the train that got hit as it leaves the attack zone.

Supposedly just one lane opened per CNN. still a major setback for Russia.

The guardrails have been blown off the other side shown in the "live" video linked at the top of the page. There is also a nice downward bow in the standing span that you can see at the 20 second mark of that video with the guy dressed in the black leather jacket taking a video of the upper train bridge.

Seriously, the damage to the steel supporting that bridge suffered damage from the heat. You couldn't get me to walk across that bridge for all the money in the world. It's just begging to collapse.

37

mdjak1 t1_iriy8cz wrote

Russia needs to drive a column of tanks, side by side across the bridge to find out if it is structurally sound.

I would definitely walk across that bridge for all the money in the world. That’s a lot of money

Edit: on second thought, maybe like 1% of all the money in the world would be more than sufficient. Might be some unforeseen consequences in taking all the money in the world.
