What is the process for finding a lawyer to do this if I have $0 and don't live in NY anymore?

My elementary and middle school ignored me being abused by teachers and by other students. Some of the abuse by other students was sexual. The school was made aware of this and chose to either do nothing or to put us in "peer mediation" so "both sides work out a compromise."

There are material damages. I've been in therapy on and off for 15 years, including hospitalized twice, and I have never able to hold a full time job longer than 4 months due to PTSD.

I have often wondered if it would be possible to sue the school but I always dismissed it because of the statute of limitations.

Well I just looked into it and I guess this one is for people who were over 18 and they did something like this for people who were under 18 two years ago but it's expired. So I missed it, again. Fucking hell here I was thinking there might be some justice for once. I don't want to be alive. I haven't wanted to be alive since elemtary school but I was assured things would get better. Fuck.
