Not sure what you said have anything to do with what I said - I'm saying people should do more than just "praying", regardless of your faith. Praying for peace but you don't do anything physically to contribute towards that is meaningless, regardless of what faith you're from. The lack of actions from "good" people is exactly why the world is in such a terrible state.
Super_Fudge_1821 t1_iwmcn9s wrote
Dude, Yea I got you. Im saying yes we should do more than pray, like reach out to each other and build a community friends neighbors among Arabs and Jews and all others. So we can have trust and dialogue than having siloed spaces of suspicion and intolerant behaviors.

I recall when “Let’s partnership peacefully with the Arabs and come to a solution” was when the violence was twenty times worse than it is now, unfortunately.

If the Israelis actually wanted peace you would hear about Israelis acknowledging that Israel is the Palestinians' homeland, that taking the Palestinians' homeland from them is responsible for the conflict and seeking to allow the Palestinians who have been driven from their homeland to be able to return there and live their lives in freedom.
You never hear about Israelis doing that. What you constantly hear is Israelis demanding that their victims continue to be beaten into submission and who think they "want peace" because they hope for their victims to stop moving.
WexfordHo OP t1_iwidi4z wrote
“Let us in and let us kill you, only then will there be peace” was a non-starter in the 1990’s and still is, however much you appeal to emotion to cover for the central premise of your demand. And no, a failure to get exactly what you want is not a blank cheque to commit decades of atrocities against anyone including your own people. In terms of who makes the Palestinians suffer, Hamas, the PLO and Islamic Jihad are the biggest perpetrators. Groups who would by the way, lose all of their money and power in the event of peace.
Kzickas t1_iwie6rh wrote
It is very obvious that you are not at all interested in peace and only interested in continuing to oppress the Palestinians.
WexfordHo OP t1_iwiejzr wrote
What did I say that makes that so clear to you?
Kzickas t1_iwifrma wrote
The fact that you are completely unwilling to recognize the role that the injustice that has been and is being done to the Palestinians has in driving the conflict. The fact that you're not willing actually address the causes of the conflict but instead view "peace" as being synonymous with using violence to force the Palestinians to accept oppression. The fact that you explicitly recognize that peace would dis-empower groups like HAMAS but are still not willing to give the kinds of groups that they would lose power to the greatest asset they could possibly have; the ability to actually achieve Palestinian rights.

The Palestinians left their homes because they were warned Israel would be attacked when it was formed. They expected it to be a very short war.
It was indeed a short war, as were the several that followed it. Israel kept winning the wars where Israel was very much not the aggressor.
Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in 2005. Gaza then elected Hamas as their government and their official policy has been “Death to Israel” since then.
Hence, Israel’s policy is “We put up a wall and won’t let munitions in. We won’t give you any more cement either because you used the last batch to build tunnels and kill us.”
They are also increasingly less interested in the opinions of other countries and people such as yourself who seem to not care when Israelis are killed.

You must not be from the USA victim blaming isn’t a rare thing, example the Philadelphia police straight up snatched a woman out of her car beat her, and used her child as a prop in a propaganda picture to tarnish the protesters. There are still people today like she wasn’t innocent, not a victim, etc etc.

Yes. You should be a human being first and feel something for the victims, who may have been actively voting and fighting against the government you believe is worse than North Korea.

Or like the US starting two wars in the Middle East that lasted 20+ years because they were attacked once? What, you think Afghanistan was heavily armed or something? Iraq was on its second US invasion, so it was pretty weak too. I hate to think what the US would do if Mexico spent decades attacking it with rockets and bombs, I’m pretty sure that Mexico and Mexicans would no longer exist. The US is already pretty rough on everything South of their border, and that’s just based on racial animus.
LandLordLovin t1_iwi58hd wrote
Considering the US let’s in MILLIONS of Mexicans and immigrants who fled to Mexico I don’t see that comparison holding up about racial animosity. Maybe your comparison to Iraq is more relevant but there’s no border friction so maybe not.
WexfordHo OP t1_iwi6emi wrote
“Lets” that uh… quite the spin on migrant camps, a “Stay in Mexico” policy, and separating kids from families at the border. All of this because Mexicans, Hondurans, El Salvadorans and others want to flee the economic conditions and violence the US has created over decades with their War on Drugs and coups.
But that’s fine because it’s the US, and not a country with a majority Jewish population. The US can commit war crimes, torture people on camera, still have an offshore torture and detention facility in Cuba, but it’s fine it’s fine. Because it’s the US. When the US responds to a single terror attack with 20 years of war and millions dead and displaced that’s just life. Hypocrites.

Insinuating the IDF will retaliate against civilians is not whataboutism. They've done it before and they'll do it again. Beating the shit out of a funeral procession of a member of the press you just murdered is not a good look, and Israeli's are confused when people don't support them.
